Happy Monday! This is a fun and retro look for this upcoming spring season. Coral and polka dots go so nicely together for when you want to make a statement. Then I like to tie my hair with a black ribbon in a side ponytail for those days that I don't want to put much effort into doing my hair.
I was just listening to an interesting Ted talks while I was editing these photos and it was about how women today base how good they are as person based on their looks. It was a sad but true reality to hear. I have struggled with that a lot. Growing up, my mother and her friends would always tell me that I am beautiful. And of course I believed it, until kids at school would bully me about my hair color, how pale my skin color is, I used to be overweight, etc. I no longer believed I was beautiful and that no one would like me unless I was pretty.
Fast forward 10 years and I am now an almost 22 year old who still struggles with that. I constantly tell myself all the time that I am not a good person because I don't have x, y, and z. I often tell myself "Girl, no one will like your fashion blog if you aren't a size zero or you don't work hard on your makeup." I realize now that my looks do NOT define me!!! How did it take me so long to realize this?! I AM a hard worker. I AM determined. And I AM BEAUTIFUL. I am beautiful because all of my loved ones thinks so, I care about others, and I follow my dreams. You are beautiful too no mater what the scale says. You are doing your best and that is what matters.
By the way I am turing 22 in just a few days! I still feel like I'm 16 sometimes lol.
