For The Honeymooners: Mandala Spa & Resort Review in Boracay Island, Philippines
Depending where I am traveling in the world, accommodation is a very important thing to me, not just "where I sleep". Some places it doesn't really matter as much and depending who you're traveling with. When I solo traveled, I only stayed in hostels because that's how you meet other solo travelers and find people to sightsee with. But because my boyfriend and I were traveling together to Boracay Island in the Philippines to celebrate our one year anniversary, we thought staying in a romantic villa in a beautiful tropical destination was the perfect setting to celebrate. Thank you Mandala Spa & Resort for giving us everything that we hoped for and more during our 3 night stay! I vlogged my whole visit here and even made a drone video with our DJI Phantom 4.

Since it was our anniversary, we decided to splurge on this beautiful little villa on the island. The room that we stayed in was the Garden View Villa. Upon arrival they greeted us with complimentary welcome drinks (which you can see in my YouTube vlog here) and a lovely entrance to our villa. The resort offers a variety of different villas. We originally booked to Digital Detox villa (which was also the cheapest) and then they kindly upgraded us to the Garden Villa.

They sprinkled the whole villa with rose petals and left little notes congratulating us on our milestone in our love. The staff is very friendly and always very accommodating on everything. They're very genuine with their kindness and hospitably unlike some hotels I've stayed at in the past. I'm very skeptical when hotel employees are nice to me because I always thought that they were obligated to and it didn't feel real. But not the Mandala Spa & Resort. The staff here is phenomenal and they are what made my experience so pleasant and wonderful here.

We enjoyed the comfy bath robes while lounging in our room! Thanks Mandala Resort! For the Philippines, this is a very expensive resort but Boracay is known for being overpriced because of all of the tourists. Boracay as a whole is not a budget friendly place so if you're a solo backpacker just scraping to get by (like I was a couple of years ago) then I would stay far away from this island lol. We paid around $180 SGD a night so it wasn't too bad for us.

The free daily breakfast:

Thank you Mandala Resort for not being the same old classic americanized breakfast that every resort ever seems to be so proud of. Like I didn't travel to the other side of the world to have something that I can just have at IHOP if you know what I mean. The Mandala Resort is much more classier than that. They have a whole menu of delicious and healthy breakfast items that you can't get anywhere else. The quinoa pancakes with fresh mangoes is literally so good that I had it every single morning during my stay. And because I didn't have enough mangoes in my 94% mango diet in the Philippines, I order a MANGO JUICE! (shocker) And let me tell you, it was damn good.

My Cleopatra Bath Experience:

Okay how AMAZING is this?! If you are staying at a resort that offers spa services then take advantage of it! The resort offered us a Cleopatra Bath and it was very nice & relaxing! They filled up the bath with water, milk, and flower petals. They also provided us with cucumbers for our eyes, some cold towels, and (of course) fresh mango juice yaaaas! I couldn't believe that was my life at that moment. Like how did I get so lucky to be traveling the world with my love and experience all of these great things with him?! #blessed

Free Daily Yoga Classes:

At the Mandala Spa Resort they had free yoga classes offered daily from 8:30-9:30 AM. How refreshing it was to say Namaste and practice my yoga in the jungle. I don't know about you but the ambience of a yoga studio is everything to me. So much better than doing yoga in a random sweaty gym in the middle of an American suburb. (been there done that)

On another note...

Since it was our biggest anniversary yet, we had lots of GIFTS!

These are the gifts that I got for James. He's a very practical guy and only likes getting things that he needs but sometimes he likes the occasional funny gift and/or thoughtful one that came straight from the heart. I got him a couple of nice shirts, a Daniel Wellington watch, a Star Wars water bottleHavianas Sandals, Japanese candy, some light up initial marquees from Typo, and a coffee plant that will grow in 6 months. (he thought that was funny)

These are my gifts that I received. James knows me so well! 😍 Thanks honey if you're reading this! I got this cute Gray Micheal Kors Purse, a teddy bear that says "I love you", a couple of motivational books, a gratitude conversation card kit, a yummy candle from kiki.k, and my favorite Body Shop lotion in "British Rose".

In Conclusion...

I had a lovely stay here and would recommend everyone to stay here if you're ever in Boracay Island in The Philippines. Book here if you are interested to stay. Make sure to follow my instagram (@globalfashiongal) to see more updates from me.

With love always,
