The 30 Minute Gym: My Ritual Gym Experience in Singapore

If you watch my YouTube videos you would know that I struggle with losing weight. I have always been out of shape and it's always been a dream of mine to be fit. For the past five years I have been trying to lose weight. I went from having an eating disorder, to over exercising, to crash dieting, to binge eating, and then relapse to bad habits. My body has been in the constant yo-yo effect for the last half decade. I felt like I have tried absolutely everything. 

I am not in love with working out and it honestly just feels like a chore to me. I felt like I have tried everything and thought there was no hope left. That is until I discovered Ritual Gym. One of my biggest obstacles for working out is simply not having time. But at Ritual Gym they promise that you're able to warm up, workout, stretch, and shower all within 30 minutes. 
You've got to be kidding me?! How is that even possible to get a sustainable work out in that amount of time?!

Before I started my first session I wasn't expecting much. The first session I did was with a private instructor coaching me for an entire hour. He made sure that I understood and got the form correct for all of the 9 workouts, warm ups, and end of workout stretches. He made me customizable workouts specifically for me that I can definitely do while still pushing myself. I have always struggled with pushing myself at the gym but these instructors definitely push you to the point that you actually want to be pushed.

The gym itself hosts a class every 30 minutes all day every day. A typical workout at ritual would consist of a Warm-Up, Three different levels of exercises to choose from, and cooling down at the end with stretches. I went to a total of 10 classes so far and I have seen a drastic change in my body. I have never looked so tone in my life! I have put on a lot of muscle weight and lost a lot of fat. My endurance increases after every class because I'm able to push myself a little bit harder every time. It only took a few classes to notice how much more toned my arms and thigh muscles have gotten. It was just a couple weeks ago that I couldn't do a squat. Now I'm easily able to do a few dozen at a time. 

So how this works is there are 10 different spaces that are numbered. All of them have a range of different weights, kettle bells, medicine balls, rings hanging from the ceiling to do pull ups, and ropes to do rows with. There are a total of nine exercises but depending on the day you will be doing them in a different order. Squats, deadlifts, burpee's, mountain climbers, rows, pull-ups, push-ups, overhead presses, and lunges. Each exercise is tailored to your needs and what you can do. There are three different levels for each of the nine exercises. Everybody's body is different and some can handle some exercises but some may not handle other types. If one exercise is too easy for you then you could just bump it up to the next level to make it more challenging for you. 

If you don't think you have enough time to work out or you aren't fit enough to exercise, then I just wanted to say that is not true. All you need to do is just to show up for 30 minutes! The instructors will not make you do something that they don't think you can do. Most of the people in the class that are with you or struggling as well and the environment is very encouraging and friendly.

The locker room is unisex and the lockers or can be activated and locks by a pin code. There even several types phone chargers built into the lockers to charge your phone while you are working out. You don't even need to bring anything to the gym! They provide you clothes to work out in and even water. After the workout is over, they have multiple different showers to pick from with shampoo, conditioner, and soap. By the sinks they provide other products to pick from such as dry shampoo, rose cleaning water, sunscreen, body lotion, facial cleansers, and even spray on deodorant's.

 The only gym that has ever worked out for me is definitely Ritual Gym. I always feel really good after a workout and I get excited the next time I get to go. Ritual Gym currently has three different locations: Ritual Raffles Place (11 North Canal Road, #03-01, Singapore 048824), Ritual Holland Village (17b Lorong Liput, #02-01, Singapore 277747), and the one I went to which is Ritual Robinson Road (140 Robinson Road, #03-01, Singapore 068907). T Holland Village location even has a protein smoothie bar so you can get a post workout drink made with all organic and vegan ingredients. 

For someone who doesn't like exercising and struggles with weight loss, Ritual Gym is somewhere I love to be and the only thing that seems to be working for me.
