My Camera Equipment for Travel Blogging + Vlogging

by - 6:00 AM

Hey guys! One of the questions I receive from my viewers all the time is - "What camera equipment do you use"? These comments are all over my photos on Instagram and my travel vlogs on YouTube. After years of you guys requesting, I have finally decided to make a dedicated blog post about all of the equipment that I use.

I use this camera mainly for my blog and Instagram photos. I love this camera because it has a great image quality and is suitable for a diverse range of scenarios. It also has many handy features such as touch screen capability for easy access, a wi-fi function to connect to my smart phone, and it's a great value for the money. I always shoot in RAW and Manual. This lens also offers great value for money and I love the soft focus effect I can get with the F2.8. It is also great for shooting video and paired with an external microphone is used for most of my static shooting. My biggest tip for developing your own style is to photograph what you find beautiful in your eyes. Everyone wants the perfect 'gram but you need to be unique to your own photography style.

This is the camera I use for most of my YouTube videos. It is the perfect vlogging camera because it is lightweight, easy to use, and DSLR-like quality in just a little camera that can fit in your pocket! If you could only buy 1 camera then I would recommend this one. When I solo travel I only really bring this one camera because it is easy to travel with. I can create high quality videos and even Instagram posts!

This is the camera that I bring when I go on water adventures such as Jet Skiing, swimming in the ocean, boat tours, or even other types of sports such as snow skiing or bike riding! This is an even simpler camera for those that like simplicity. It can shoot in 4K and you can even disable the fisheye function so that it's more like a regular vlogging camera. If you are a travel vlogger or someone who does a lot of adventure type videos then I recommend getting this camera.

I bought my iPhone about 2 years ago and take more photos on this than everything else. You really don't need a fancy camera to have good content. For example, I decided one time that I would upload a photo that I took on my iPhone. It was simply a spur of the moment photo, I just snapped and uploaded it. Little did I know that it would go viral. Read more here about my story about how I got this poor quality image to go viral. It's visual proof that you don't need fancy equipment to go viral.

Although I don't actually own one yet, I do rent one almost every time I go out of town. This is a game changer and now we can capture our beautiful sights from aerial view. I film a lot of cinematic travel diaries with this drone as well as take some epic shots for my Instagram such as the photos shown below:

There is no shortage of amazing camera and video equipment out there. I have spent a lot of time and money over the years learning how to take full advantage of my resources. It takes time and patience but with the right tools you can get amazing quality photos just like these!
